6 ATC size coptic stitched little books
These guys have roughly ten pages. Pages are made from different papers including copy paper, kid's handwriting practice paper, orchard paper and manilla paper. The covers are constructed from recycled chipboard from either cake mix boxes or beer boxes (heck of a combo! lol), security envelope insides, russian text and outdated atlas maps. Fun little books to make! Easy little books to make!
You'll be seeing some of these little books this size but made from gameboards instead of recycled chipboard. They have a few more pages than these books also.
I offered these for trade in the Easter-A-Thon over at AFA but no one wanted one so I gave them away to my family for an Easter present. Worked out quite alright. I still have three or four of these left. I believe I made a total of a dozen of them. Those that are still around when I make my trip to Lucas will just travel there with me as well.

Purple Cat Coptic Stitch Book
March 2010
This book has 5 signatures of 5 pages, giving the book a total of 50 pages (if I counted that right!) The covers are game boards cut to about 5.5 x 7 inches. I started off by collaging orange magazine pictures from various publications all over the covers. Then I put yellow tissue paper over the orange collage to tone it down a bit. Next layer is purple glitter and gold dust. The cat is made from some rubber-like stuff...reminds me of linoleum except it isn't slick...it feels like suede actually! Someone sent it to me as a RAK. The cat is painted with acrylic ink and the white is acrylic pen paint. The little purple cat is the bookmark. He's made from recycled chipboard (cake box perhaps?), he has wire whiskers, googly eyes, plastic nose and green stone on his chest. He is glued to the string used for binding the book. That string is two strands of crewel embroidery yarn, one purple, one orange. The dangly off the side of the book is a large plastic teardrop, a pink plastic star and two silver colored bells on a loop. I believe it was a cell phone charm when it began its life. The inside of the covers is collaged with orange magazine pictures and then dry brushed with that purple acrylic ink the cats are painted with. I showed you all both pictures cause it illustrates how the gold dust changes with the angles. Sometimes the book looks almost orange and then you change the angle it's as gold as it can be. I didn't plan it that way but, wow, what a happy accident!

A picture to show you the wheatfields growing in my neck of the woods!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that shade of green!
This field is just across the county line into Phillips County to the North of us. Everything is greening up so nicely! Buds are on the trees straining to burst out in leaf! I love springtime because of the growth that occurs on a minute by minute basis! Enjoy it!

I have to go do the dishes! You all go get your hugs for the day...or the week if you're behind in the hugs department!
Peace
